I Have No Talent For Post Titles.

Here's another one of those stories i wrote. This one is called "Codename: Tau"

It was the most difficult mission i had ever undergone in my years of service as a Special Covert Forces squad leader. The times had got harder and missions were more and more challenging. More men were rebelling. This mission was to infiltrate the Bio-terrorists' stronghold of Fell Creek in the disease ridden bogs of the Central Behlarusian Peninsula river basin and bring it down to prevent further trouble from the heretics. The mission was codenamed: Tau.

As we landed on a patch of dirt in a small clearing in the densest jungle in the world, I heard Corax cursing about this horrendously difficult task that we were going to embark upon and how impossible it seemed. But he immediately took a defensive position as sudden bursts of light flashed through the foliage and headed straight for us. I quickly issued commands to the team and we returned fire in an orderly pattern, perfectly synchronized volleys of laser fire erupted from out position and together with liquid fire, the hidden assailants were quickly silenced.

After a moment of peace, the team proceeded to scout the area and soon we were en route to the Fell Creek fortress. The way was relatively peaceful but it was by no means easy. We were knee deep in the filthy stinking muck that covered the entire area, a by-product of the human race, our filters were working hard to keep out the toxins that the muck emitted. As the looming shape of the fortress came into view, the equipment officer Kraege sent a few reconnaiscance probes to map out the terrain and internal structure of the buildings. It was by far the largest and most heavily guarded human complex i had ever seen and it was reeking with the stench of vermin that wished to be annihilated.

After the probes returned and conveyed the information to Kraege, he explained that it would take a gargantuan effort to bring the fortress down, not to mention a large and well placed amount of detonation charges. Then we broke cover and stealthily entered the complex through a sewage tunnel. Inside, it was a labyrinth and it took forever to place the charges at the correct areas because of the complexity of the building. As the squad cautiously made their way into the last designated area, Corax opened his mouth to speak, but was riddled with armor piercing rounds before he could even utter a word.

Soon all hell broke lose. Limbs flailed, bodies were ripped apart by bursts of fire, charred bodies slumped to the ground and screams and shouts filled the whole chamber as the squad engaged the terrorists while Kraege struggled to set the last charge.

After what seemed like an eternity, I signalled to surviving squadmates to pull back, but we were almost surrounded and heavily outnumbered, altough we outclassed them in terms of technology, training and firepower. The group split and while one retreated, the other gave covering fire. I was proud of my team that in the face of such difficult opposition, they could accomplish what they set out to do.

Metre by bloody metre, we fought our way out of the hellish interior of the fortress, losing all but three sqaudmates as they were cut down by the sheer numbers of the fanatical human terrorists. As we approached the bogs, Kraege flicked the switch and the charges detonated, destroying most of the complex fortress and vapourising its occupants. In front of the crumbling structure, i recounted the day as the last of the humans were slaughtered. It was the most arduous and difficult mission I had ever completed. It cost us plenty, but operation Tau was a success and it was for the greater good. With a flick of our tails, we disappeared back into the stygian darkness of the Fell Creek bogs.

The End.
Hope you readers like this too. haha
